Restorative Dentistry in Spokane

Restorative dentistry treatments allow us to repair your broken, worn-out, or missing teeth. Not only do we treat the source of damage, Dr. Molgard also addresses the esthetic concerns that go along with it. Can you imagine chewing your food or smiling without embarrassment? When we’re able to completely change the way you feel about your teeth, there’s nothing we find more satisfying. As a board-certified prosthodontist, Dr. Molgard is an expert provider of the most complex (or simple) of restorative services, such as crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and dentures.

Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges

Porcelain crowns cover the entire surface of a tooth up to the gum tissue. They’re used in situations where a tooth has been impacted by:

  • Large fractures
  • Deep areas of tooth decay
  • Excessive wear
  • Endodontic therapy (root canal treatment)

In contrast, a dental bridge used to span the gap caused by missing teeth. On each end of the dental bridge is a functional crown, which is anchored over teeth adjacent to the open space. Both dental crowns and dental bridges can also be anchored on top of dental implants to replace more missing teeth at one time. Depending on your situation, Dr. Molgard may arrange for our lab technician to provide custom color-matching for your restoration…especially if it involves a tooth at the front of your smile. For most cases, we recommend using zirconia or E.max crowns that are capable of withstanding normal daily use while also delivering the most esthetic outcome possible. It’s just one of the ways we assure that your new crown or bridge reflects what we would want for one of our own smiles.

Inlays and Onlays

Perhaps you have a structurally sound tooth that doesn’t need a full crown, but a filling just won’t do. In these situations, we use a “three-quarter crown,” otherwise known as an inlay or onlay to reinforce the tooth’s anatomy. Dr. Molgard works closely with specific dental labs, for the best possible outcome of each restoration that he provides. Inlays and onlays are just one example of how we focus on the highest quality of materials and workmanship, regardless of how simple it may seem.

Advanced Cone Beam X-Rays

Our Cone Beam X-ray machine produces superior quality images of your craniofacial region for the most advanced treatment planning available. Dr. Molgard uses these 3D images of teeth, soft tissues, bone and nerve pathways to precisely guide your full mouth reconstruction or place your dental implants.

Conventional and Implant-Supported Denture Options

There’s more to tooth replacement than standard acrylic dentures. Dr. Molgard offers digital dentures that provide optimal comfort, eliminate processing errors, and prevent shrinkage of the materials used. Each one is milled from a single, cured acrylic block. The digital record is available to recreate an identical denture should yours ever need to be replaced. Implant supported options like All-on-4 dentures or implant retained removable prosthetics are an excellent alternative to wearing a conventional denture. With the aid of dental implants, your prosthesis fits more comfortably and secure. They’re the closest thing available to making it feel like you have all of your natural teeth again.

Denture Repair

If you’ve accidentally dropped or broken your dentures, we can usually repair them within one day. Should it need to be relined, we will typically arrange for you to come by first thing in the morning, so that your prosthesis is ready to be picked up at the end of the same business day. Our expert dentist in Spokane can help you enjoy a healthier smile, whether you have one missing tooth or need full mouth rehabilitation. It’s time to feel confident about the way your teeth look.
